Should my 9 year old play AA or AAA ball?

Our goal is that every player enjoy their experiences with baseball and BYB and we want to give those with advanced skills an opportunity to be with similarly skilled peers

DOUBLE A - Players who have some experience and confidence in their skills benefit from the AA introduction to more competitive baseball

  • We keep score and have playoffs
  • Pitching machines are used, albeit a bit faster than in A League - as the season evolves, we introduce kid pitch
  • It is the right place for a kid who has developed some basic skills - catching a slowly tossed ball, throwing a ball straight, experience swinging a baseball bat - and, shows enough confidence putting these skills to work in a more competitive situation

TRIPLE A - Players who have gained meaningful experience and exhibit both the skills and the drive to play with similarly skilled peers

  • A LIMITED NUMBER OF 9 YEAR OLDS MAY BE ROSTERED ON AAA TEAMS- AT THE DISCRETION OF BYB - BASED ON AVAILABLE SPOTS, PERFORMANCE AT TRYOUTS AND COACH's RECOMMENDATIONS
  • We keep score and have playoffs
  • Pitching is more advanced, a little faster
  • Batting and fielding skills and confidence required at this level
  • We are still focused on the kids having fun and supporting them in their growth
